Our Process
With an unrivalled passion for bridal gowns & accessories, our process is unique.
We start with made-to-order simple gowns that we view as a blank canvas on which to write your story. These gowns arrive in the studio untouched & uninspired waiting to be transformed.
Using traditional skills that have been passed down from mother to daughter through my family, I embellish each piece achieving a delicate balance of vibrant ornamentation & traditional motifs.
Characterised by intricate detailing our designs feature beadwork, embroidery as well as floral lacework & applique. Some designs are experimental while others follow customary design principles. Regardless of the style, each piece is a tribute to love.
The Inspiration
The Amour et Ivoire story begins with my own love story. Heavily influenced by my French fiance & the experiences we have shared. Our own matrimonial journey has centred around an intimate celebration of our relationship that saw two worlds & two distinctive cultures collide.
From bohemian two pieces for the unorthodox bride to sophisticated ball gowns with opulent trains, the collections attempt to combine the understated luxury of French gowns & the unique patterns & textures of the natural Australian environment.
Amour & Ivoire pays homage to our time in France & the romantic inspiration I gleaned from the city of lights. Seeing the city from the eyes of a local, I was moved by the simple elegance of French wedding styles that emphasise the honest and authentic beauty of French brides. Free from unnecessary noise & flamboyant risks, french couture is full of feminine delicacy that I aim to bring to home to Australia.
